More and more wineries in California are producing Rhône-style blends, merging the power of Syrah with the fruitiness of Grenache, and often adding earthy Mourvèdre—a combination that works exceptionally well with this rich risotto. Two good bottlings: the plummy 2005 Beckmen Vineyards Cuvée Le Bec and the ripe, meaty 2005 Unti Vineyards Petit Frere.
Slow-Cooker Sausage and Vegetable Risotto
This recipe is great, a good idea for cooking risotto. The recipes says one hour in the slow cooker but mine takes 2 hour typically. I suggest trying the recipe once to figure out how much time you need, because I'm sure slow cookers vary significantly.
