This is simply a Jack Rose made with Calvados. According to Jackson Cannon, its apple flavor is far more concentrated: "In that first cold snap of fall when we've broken out our sweaters, the lush apple flavors of this version seem just right."

Ingredients

  • Ice
  • 2 ounces Calvados
  • 3/4 ounce grenadine, preferably homemade
  • 1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • Dash of Peychaud’s bitters
  • 1 lemon twist, for garnish

How to make this recipe

  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add all of the remaining ingredients except the garnish and shake well. Strain into a chilled coupe and garnish with the lemon twist.
