Roast Dates with Ham

For an even simpler hors d'oeuvre, don't roast the dates.

  1. 10 small pitted California dates
  2. 5 thin slices Serrano ham (about 1 1/2 ounces), halved lengthwise
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°. Arrange the dates in a pie plate and bake for about 10 minutes, or until heated through. Wrap the ham around the dates and secure with a toothpick. Serve warm or at room temperature
