The drink's creator, Italian-born bartender Vincenzo Marianella, got serious about mixology during a visit to Australia in 2003. He was so impressed by the cocktails there that he wound up staying long enough to attend bartending classes in Sydney.

  • 8 raspberries
  • Ice
  • 1 1/2 ounces silver tequila
  • 3/4 ounce Chambord
  • 1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 ounce Simple Syrup
  • Dash of orange bitters
  • 3 ounces chilled ginger beer
  • 1 mint sprig

How to make this recipe

  1. In a cocktail shaker, muddle 6 of the raspberries. Add ice and the tequila, Chambord, lemon juice, Simple Syrup and bitters. Shake well and strain into an ice-filled highball glass. Top with the ginger beer. Garnish with the remaining 2 raspberries and the mint sprig.
