Cocktail Guide: Quo Vadis recipe

Quo Vadis

  • SERVINGS: Makes 1 drink

Francesco Lafranconi teaches mixology seminars on amari, bitter Italian digestive liqueurs. (There are scores of amari, mostly made from secret combinations of herbs and spices.) He chose Amaro Abano for this drink because its cardamom flavor goes so nicely with the rich, nutty cream sherry.

  1. Ice
  2. 1 ounce Campari
  3. 1 ounce cream sherry, preferably Lustau Rare Cream
  4. 1/2 ounce Luxardo Amaro Abano or other amaro, such as Averna or Amaro Lucano
  5. 2 ounces chilled club soda
  6. 2 orange twists skewered on a pick with 2 green olives, for garnish
  1. Fill a chilled rocks glass with ice. Add all of the remaining ingredients except the garnish and stir well. Garnish with the skewered orange twists and green olives.
