The 1980s ushered in the era of the celebrity chef. Some big names, like John Sedlar, disappeared but are back now (his Rivera in Los Angeles opens soon); others never left, like Robert del Grande, who is reinventing Houston’s Cafe Annie as Bar Annie with dishes like this Southwestern pork rib stew.

Pork and Chile Stew

We are Denver natives and miss the local green chile stew that is essential for smothering burritos and making huevos rancheros.   We moved away 10 years ago and I have yet, until today, found a recipe that reminds us of home.  This recipe is truly tasty.  It calls for easy to find grocery store ingredients and the results are spectacular.  A well deserved "YUM" came from my husbands lips with his first taste.  I hope you give this a try and enjoy it with eggs, burritos and corn tortillas.
