Pimm's Cup

  • SERVINGS: makes 1 drink

Wimbledon spectators drink ten to fifteen thousand Pimm’s Cups every day. Americans often make the low-alcohol cocktail with Sprite or 7-Up, but Greg Best opts for the British way, using bitter lemon soda for “the perfect balance between sweet and tart.”

  1. Ice
  2. 2 ounces Pimm’s No. 1 (gin-based aperitif)
  3. 4 ounces chilled bitter lemon soda (See Note)
  4. 1 lemon wedge, 1 apple slice and 1 cucumber spear, for garnish
  1. Fill a chilled collins glass with ice. Add the Pimm’s and lemon soda and stir well. Garnish with the lemon wedge, apple slice and cucumber spear.
Notes Schweppes and Fever-Tree make high-quality, widely available bitter lemon sodas.
