Peaches in Muscat with Honey

Use your hands to crush the basil leaves lightly and release their fragrance into this elegant dessert.

  1. 1/2 cup dessert wine, such as Beaumes de Venise or California Muscat
  2. 1/2 cup crushed fresh basil leaves
  3. 2 tablespoons honey
  4. 3 large ripe peaches, preferably white, sliced 1/3 inch thick
  1. In a large glass bowl, combine the wine, basil and honey. Add the peaches and let macerate at room temperature for 1 hour. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour or up to 4 hours before serving.
