In a quest to create a drink using Peruvian pisco, Francesco Lafranconi ultimately settled on this unusual concoction. The Chartreuse-Aperol-grapefruit combination lingers for several minutes—an especially complex finish for an aperitif.

  1. Ice
  2. 2 ounces chilled Sauvignon Blanc or other crisp white wine
  3. 3/4 ounce pisco
  4. 3/4 ounce Aperol (bitter orange Italian aperitif)
  5. 1 ounce chilled club soda
  6. One 2-inch strip of Ruby Red grapefruit zest, for garnish
  7. 3/4 ounce yellow Chartreuse
  1. Fill a white wine glass with ice. Add all of the remaining ingredients except the garnish and stir well. Garnish with the grapefruit zest.
