In a quest to create a drink using Peruvian pisco, Francesco Lafranconi ultimately settled on this unusual concoction. The Chartreuse-Aperol-grapefruit combination lingers for several minutes--an especially complex finish for an aperitif.

Ingredients

  • Ice
  • 2 ounces chilled Sauvignon Blanc or other crisp white wine
  • 3/4 ounce pisco
  • 3/4 ounce Aperol (bitter orange Italian aperitif)
  • 1 ounce chilled club soda
  • One 2-inch strip of Ruby Red grapefruit zest, for garnish
  • 3/4 ounce yellow Chartreuse

How to make this recipe

  1. Fill a white wine glass with ice. Add all of the remaining ingredients except the garnish and stir well. Garnish with the grapefruit zest.
