Author and cocktail consultant Nick Mautone created this drink in honor of Crustacean's 10th anniversary. The multi-culti cocktail combines lavender from Hawaii, Mandarine Napoléon from Belgium and blood orange juice from Italy.

  • 2 lemon wedges
  • 1 1/2 ounces orange vodka
  • 1/2 ounce Cherry Heering or other cherry liqueur
  • 1/2 ounce Mandarine Napoléon or Grand Marnier
  • 1/2 ounce fresh orange juice, preferably blood orange
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground anise
  • 1 fresh lavender sprig (optional)

How to make this recipe

  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Squeeze the juice from the lemon wedges into the shaker and drop them in. Add all of the remaining ingredients except the lavender sprig and shake well. <a href="/articles/cocktail-basics-techniques#doublestraining">Double strain</a> into a chilled martini glass and garnish with the lavender sprig.
