Bar manager Joy Perrine—a 40-year veteran of the industry—adds a few extra splashes of bitters to her version of the quintessential Louisville cocktail.

Ingredients

1. 1 orange slice
2. 1 maraschino cherry
3. 1/2 ounce Simple Syrup
4. 5 dashes of Angostura bitters
5. 2 ounces bourbon
6. Ice

Directions

1. In a rocks glass, muddle the orange slice and cherry with the Simple Syrup and bitters. Add the bourbon and a few ice cubes and stir well.
