"This recipe takes a common gin sour and makes it uncommonly good" says James Wampler. It features pink gin (a gin blended with bitters, concocted by Royal Navy men to cure seasickness) and a Pinot Noir float on the top.
- 2 ounces pink gin, preferably Rogue
- 3/4 ounce Simple Syrup
- 3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 ounce Pinot Noir or other light, fruity red wine
- In a cocktail shaker, combine the gin, Simple Syrup and lemon juice. Fill the shaker with ice and shake well. Strain into a chilled ice-filled rocks glass and float the wine on top, slowly pouring it over the back of a bar spoon near the drink's surface.
