The Negroni was invented in 1925 when Florentine count Camillo Negroni asked a bartender to make his Americano (a mixture of Campari, sweet vermouth and club soda) with gin instead of soda.
- 1 ounce Campari
- 1 ounce London dry gin
- 1 ounce sweet vermouth
- 1 or 2 orange wheels, for garnish
- Fill a chilled rocks glass with ice. Add the Campari, gin and Vermouth; stir well. Garnish with the orange wheels.
