Mock Mojito Mule

  • SERVINGS: Makes 1 Drink

Ryan Maybee fuses the flavors of two classic cocktails—the Mojito and the Moscow Mule (vodka, ginger beer and lime)—in this citrusy, ginger-spiked drink. Since there are so many ginger beers on the market (some good and some not so good), Maybee prepares his own using homemade ginger syrup and tonic water.

  1. 1/2 lime, quartered
  2. 2 orange wedges
  3. 1 ounce Ginger Syrup
  4. Ice cubes, plus crushed ice
  5. 5 mint leaves, plus 1 mint sprig for garnish
  6. 2 ounces chilled tonic water
  1. In a cocktail shaker, muddle the lime quarters and orange wedges with the Ginger Syrup. Add ice cubes and the mint leaves and shake well. Fine-strain into a chilled, crushed ice-filled collins glass. Stir in the tonic water and garnish with the mint sprig.
