Spice Atlanta
“Cocktail engineer” Gina Word prepared her first batch of Midtown Sangria at the countercultural Burning Man festival in the Nevada desert. “I lived on that and hummus for a week,” she says.
One 750-ml bottle dry but fruity white
wine, such as Sauvignon Blanc
12 ounces apple juice
8 orange wheels
Directions
In a glass bowl, combine the water, honey and ground cinnamon and microwave at high power for 40 seconds. Stir well, then pour into a large pitcher and add the white wine and apple juice. Refrigerate the sangria until chilled, at least 2 hours. Stir well and pour into ice-filled red wine glasses. Garnish each drink with an orange wheel.
