Growing up in Jal El Dib, Lebanon, Rita Nakouzi would drink ayran, or lightly salted yogurt over ice. "My mom liked to make it on hot summer nights," she says.

- 6 cups plain whole-milk yogurt
- 3 cups water
- Salt
- Ice
- 8 mint sprigs, for garnish
Directions
- In a pitcher, whisk the yogurt with the water and season lightly with salt. Fill tall glasses with ice. Pour in the yogurt drink, garnish with the mint sprigs and serve.
