Masala Mai Tai

Eben Freeman spikes Victor "Trader Vic" Bergeron's most famous tiki drink, the mai tai, with garam masala. This traditional Indian spice blend includes cloves, coriander and cardamom.
- Ice cubes, plus crushed ice
- 1 1/2 ounces Garam Masala Rum
- 3/4 ounce fresh lime juice
- 1/2 ounce orange curaçao or 1/4 ounce Grand Marnier mixed with 1/4 ounce Simple Syrup
- 1/2 ounce orgeat (almond-flavored syrup)
- 1 mint sprig, for garnish
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. Add all of the remaining ingredients except crushed ice and the mint and shake well. Strain into a crushed icefilled rocks glass and garnish with the mint sprig.
