Lord Bullingdon's Revenge
- SERVINGS: Makes 1 Drink
Mike Ryan created this drink after reading William Thackeray’s The Luck of Barry Lyndon and watching Stanley Kubrick’s film version of the novel. In the story, the character Lord Bullingdon wounds Lyndon in the leg in a duel. “The Scotch echoes the smoke from the old-style pistols they used,” says Ryan. “Chartreuse represents the medicinal herbs used in the poultice for Lyndon’s leg.”
- Rinse a chilled rocks glass with the Chartreuse; pour out the excess. Fill a pint glass with ice. Add both Scotches, the crème de cacao and both bitters; stir well. Strain into the rocks glass, pinch the twist over the drink and discard.
