Lemony Laurel

  • SERVINGS: Makes 1 driink

Restaurant Eve • Alexandria, VA

After tasting a dish of chicken, roasted lemons, bay leaf and a touch of anise at another D.C.–area restaurant, bar manager Todd Thrasher worked the flavors into a drink for Restaurant Eve. The magic ingredients: Galliano, an anise-scented Italian liqueur, and lemons roasted with bay leaves.

Plus: Ultimate Cocktail Guide

  1. Crushed ice
  2. 1 1/2 ounces citrus vodka
  3. 3/4 ounce Galliano
  4. 2 1/2 ounces Roasted-Lemon Syrup
  5. 1 fresh bay leaf (optional)
  1. Fill a highball glass with crushed ice. Add the vodka, Galliano and Roasted-Lemon Syrup. Using a swizzle stick or a bar spoon turned between both hands, swizzle for 8 seconds. Garnish with the bay leaf.
