This takes the full amount of time but it is worth it. I cut back on the cayenne a little bit to make sure it wasn't too spice. Definately will be making this on a regular bases.

Delcious flavor, delightful aroma and so easy to make.  This is even better made a day ahead and reheated.  We used quite a lot of cilantro at the end and it added a nice fresh flavor punch too.  A keeper.  In happy coincidence we happened to have a bottle of the Planeta wine on hand and it was a nice pairing.

Has anyone substituted the lamb with beef?

I recently made Lamb Rogan Josh using the spices from Penzey's.  It was good, but the spice mix was just not quite what my husband and I were used to.  I was HOPING to find a recipe with the actual spices, instead of a pre-made mix. (Madras Crurry).  Would love to try this if you'd provide the spice list.
