Flatiron Lounge co-owner Julie Reiner thought up this drink during a cruise after her first taste of orange-spiced Ramazzotti amaro in Sicily.
- 2 strawberry slices
- 1/2 ounce Simple Syrup
- Ice
- 2 ounces blanco tequila
- 1 ounce amaro (bittersweet Italian liqueur)
- 3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice
- 1 1/2 ounces chilled rosé Champagne
- 1 edible pansy (optional)
- In a cocktail shaker, muddle the strawberry slices with the Simple Syrup. Add ice and the tequila, amaro and lemon juice and shake well. Strain into a white wine glass, top with the Champagne and garnish with the pansy.
