Juniper Syrup

  • SERVINGS: Makes about 6 ounces

Use this flavored syrup to make the Juniper & Tonic mocktail.

  1. One 1.6-ounce jar juniper berries
  2. Zest of 1/2 orange, in strips
  3. 2 cardamom pods
  4. 1/2 cup water
  5. 1/2 cup sugar
  1. In a small saucepan, muddle the juniper berries. Add the orange zest, cardamom pods and water and bring to a simmer. Stir in the sugar and simmer for 15 minutes. Let cool, then cover and refrigerate overnight. Strain the syrup into a jar, cover and refrigerate for up to 3 weeks.
