John Gertsen created this chilled take on the Tom & Jerry for the Boston launch party of Banks 5-Island Rum in late 2010. Banks is an unusual blend of 21 white rums from five different countries: Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, Java and Trinidad.

  1. Ice cubes, plus crushed ice
  2. 2 ounces white rum, preferably Banks 5-Island
  3. 1 1/2 ounces Tom & Jerry Batter
  4. 1 ounce chilled whole milk
  5. Freshly grated nutmeg, for garnish
  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. Add the rum, Tom & Jerry Batter and milk and shake well. Strain into a chilled, crushed ice–filled double rocks glass and garnish with freshly grated nutmeg. Serve with 2 straws.
