This drink was inspired by the Avenue cocktail in the 1937 Café Royal Cocktail Book, which combined passion fruit juice and grenadine with Calvados and bourbon.

Ingredients

  1. Ice cubes, plus crushed ice
  2. 1 1/2 ounces dark rum
  3. 1 1/2 ounces St-Germain elderflower liqueur
  4. 3/4 ounce passion fruit nectar or juice
  5. 1/4 ounce grenadine, preferably homemade
  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. Add all of the remaining ingredients except crushed ice and shake well. Strain into a crushed ice–filled snifter.
