This hot drink is a nod to Jeff Grdinich's bartender friend Chris Hannah of Arnaud's French 75 Bar in New Orleans. The Herbsaint in the recipe is produced by the legendary New Orleans–based Sazerac Company.

Ingredients

  1. 2 ounces Navan (vanilla-flavored Cognac-based liqueur)
  2. 1/2 ounce Herbsaint (anise-flavored liqueur)
  3. 4 ounces hot coffee
  4. Dollop of lightly sweetened whipped cream, for garnish
  1. In a heatproof mug, combine the Navan and Herbsaint, then stir in the coffee. Garnish with the whipped cream.
