“Anything herby or vegetabley is usually great with Sauvignon Blanc,” says F&W’s Marcia Kiesel, since the wine often has an herbal, grassy edge. She adds grilled zucchini and a smoked-paprika pesto to her grilled cheese sandwiches to enhance the toasty flavors.

Pairing Suggestion

These are excellent with a refreshing, lightly oaked Sauvignon Blanc, like the 2007 Robert Mondavi Fumé Blanc.

This was good, quick and easy. I ended up using bottled pesto because the amount I was trying to make (half) wouldn't blend right. My husband put smoked fontina cheese on one of his and it was delicious! From now on I'll just use whatever cheese I have in the house.
