The bartenders at chef Barbara Lynch's Boston bar Drink created this citrusy cocktail for her with California-made Hangar One vodka after she returned from a trip to the West Coast. She christened the cocktail the Golden State.
- Ice cubes, plus cracked ice
- 1 1/2 ounces vodka, preferably Hangar One
- 1/2 ounce St-Germain elderflower liqueur
- 2 ounces fresh white grapefruit juice
- 1 ounce chilled ginger beer
- 1 grapefruit twist, for garnish
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. Add the vodka and St-Germain and shake well. Strain into a cracked-ice-filled double rocks glass. Stir in the grapefruit juice, then the ginger beer. Garnish with the twist.
