"It can add a lot of depth to cocktails, but it's also very intense, so I like to pair it with other aromatic spirits." In this fragrant, crystal-clear cocktail, Reiner matches apricot eau-de-vie with juniper-scented gin.

How to Make Brown Sugar


  • 1 lemon twist
  • Ice
  • 3/4 ounce Martini Bianco vermouth (see Note)
  • 2 dashes orange bitters
  • 3/4 ounce apricot eau-de-vie
  • 1 1/2 ounces Plymouth gin

How to make this recipe

  1. Fill a pint glass with ice. Add the gin, eau-de-vie, vermouth and bitters and stir well. Strain into a chilled coupe and garnish with the lemon twist.


Martini Bianco is a slightly sweet, vanilla-flavored vermouth, not to be confused with extra-dry vermouth.
