Genever, a distilled, grain-based spirit that originated in Holland, gives this pretty pink aperitif a light malty flavor. Gomme syrup, sometimes known as gum syrup, gives the drink a weightier texture; it's available at smallhandfoods.com.

  1. Ice
  2. 2/3 ounce genever
  3. 2/3 ounce Lillet blanc
  4. 2/3 ounce Campari
  5. 1/2 passion fruit, or 1/2 ounce passion fruit nectar or juice
  6. 1/3 ounce gomme syrup (simple syrup with gum arabic) or Simple Syrup
  7. 6 to 8 passion fruit seeds, for garnish (optional)
  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add all of the remaining ingredients except the garnish and shake well. Double strain into a chilled coupe and garnish with the passion fruit seeds.
