- 4 1/2-inch slices country bread
- 1 clove garlic, halved
- Heat the broiler. Put the bread on a baking sheet and broil, turning once, until crisp and brown on the outside but still slightly soft in the center, about 3 minutes. Rub one side of each slice with the cut-side of the garlic.
