This fancy old-fashioned is made with Cognac instead of the traditional bourbon or blended whiskey.

  1. 1 teaspoon sugar
  2. 2 dashes of Peychaud's bitters
  3. 2 dashes of Angostura bitters
  4. 1/2 teaspoon club soda
  5. 2 ounces VSOP Cognac
  6. 1 orange slice
  7. 1 brandied cherry
  8. Ice
  1. In a pint glass, stir the sugar with both bitters and the club soda to a paste. Add the Cognac, orange slice and cherry and stir again. Add ice, stir again and strain into an ice-filled double rocks glass.
