French 75

Gin and champagne? Mais oui. Named for an artillery gun used in World War I, the French 75 has a surprisingly clean taste and an explosive effect.
Directions
- Put a handful of ice cubes in a shaker and add 1 tablespoon each of gin, Cointreau and fresh lemon juice. Shake and strain into a Champagne flute. Add 1/2 cup Champagne or sparkling wine and stir gently.
