For his boozy update of the Corpse Reviver No. 2, mixologist Ryan Fitzgerald changed the proportions and replaced the usual Lillet with Cocchi Americano—a fortified, slightly bitter aperitif wine. Absinthe gives the drink an opalescence reminiscent of San Francisco's fog.

1/4 ounce absinthe
2 ounces gin, preferably Plymouth
1/2 ounce Cocchi Aperitivo Americano or Lillet blanc
1/2 ounce Cointreau or other triple sec
1 lemon twist, for garnish
How to Make It
Rinse a chilled coupe with the absinthe; discard the excess. Fill a pint glass with ice. Add the gin, Cocchi Americano and Cointreau; stir well. Strain into the coupe and garnish with the lemon twist.
