Foghorn Cocktail

For his boozy update of the Corpse Reviver No. 2, mixologist Ryan Fitzgerald changed the proportions and replaced the usual Lillet with Cocchi Americano--a fortified, slightly bitter aperitif wine. Absinthe gives the drink an opalescence reminiscent of San Francisco's fog.

  • 1/4 ounce absinthe
  • Ice
  • 2 ounces gin, preferably Plymouth
  • 1/2 ounce Cocchi Aperitivo Americano or Lillet blanc
  • 1/2 ounce Cointreau or other triple sec
  • 1 lemon twist, for garnish

How to make this recipe

  1. Rinse a chilled coupe with the absinthe; discard the excess. Fill a pint glass with ice. Add the gin, Cocchi Americano and Cointreau; stir well. Strain into the coupe and garnish with the lemon twist.
