Rubbing the inside of the martini glass with lemongrass gives this drink a fantastic herbal-lemon aroma.

  1. 1 lemongrass stalk, halved crosswise—bottom half smashed, top half reserved for garnish
  2. Ice
  3. 1 2/3 ounces Cognac
  4. 2/3 ounce St-Germain elderflower liqueur
  5. 2/3 ounce fresh lemon juice
  6. 2 basil leaves, smacked
  1. Gently rub the inside of a chilled martini glass with the smashed lemongrass and discard. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add all of the remaining ingredients except the garnish and shake well. Strain into the prepared martini glass and garnish with the lemongrass top.
