High Cotton • Charleston

High Cotton, which serves roughly 800 Espresso Martinis a month, takes its name from an old southern term for living well; high-growing cotton was a sign of prosperity.

Plus:

  1. 1 small orange wedge
  2. Unsweetened cocoa powder
  3. Ice
  4. 1 ounce coffee liqueur
  5. 1 ounce vodka
  6. 1 ounce room-temperature brewed espresso
  1. Moisten the outer rim of a martini glass with the orange wedge and coat lightly with cocoa powder. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add all of the remaining ingredients, shake well and strain into the martini glass.
