Cynar Sour

"Cynar is so distinctively Italian," says Francesco Lafranconi about the bitter artichoke liqueur. "It has a very pleasing burnt-sugar, earthy, bittersweet flavor."
- Ice
- 2 ounces Cynar
- 1/4 ounce maraschino liqueur
- 1 ounce fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 ounce agave nectar
- 1/2 large egg white (optional)
- 1 baby cucumber, halved and skewered on a pick (optional), and 3 long, thin strips of orange zest, for garnish
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add all of the remaining ingredients except the garnishes and shake well. Strain into a chilled coupe or snifter and garnish with the baby cucumber and orange zest.
