Loa • New Orleans

Based on the Moscow Mule, a 1940s drink developed to promote Smirnoff vodka, Loa's Cheval uses muddled cucumber.

Plus: Ultimate Cocktail Guide

  1. 1/4 seedless cucumber, thinly sliced
  2. 2 lime quarters
  3. Ice
  4. 1 1/2 ounces vodka
  5. 1 1/2 to 2 ounces chilled ginger beer
  1. In a cocktail shaker, muddle all but 1 of the cucumber slices with the lime quarters. Add ice and the vodka, shake well and strain into an ice-filled highball glass. Top with the ginger beer and garnish with the remaining cucumber slice.
