Cherry Blossom Brocade
- SERVINGS: Makes 1 Drink
While Chris Hannah loves making classic cocktails, he also enjoys tinkering with them to come up with new drinks. The licoricey Cherry Blossom Brocade uses three ingredients that weren’t available in the US when the Brandy Crusta was invented a century and a half ago: whiskey-like Dutch genever, Heering cherry liqueur and absinthe.
- Moisten half of the outer rim of a chilled rocks glass with the lemon wedge and coat lightly with sugar. Arrange the grapefruit zest in the glass. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the genever, cherry liqueur, absinthe, grapefruit juice and bitters to the shaker and shake well. Strain the drink into the prepared rocks glass.
