Carrot-Mango Lassi

Elizabeth Falkner of Citizen Cake and Orson in San Francisco swears by this yogurt smoothie (known as a lassi in India) if she's overindulged: the pinch of turmeric here is great for the liver.

  1. 2 medium carrots or 1/4 cup carrot juice
  2. 1 small mango, peeled and cubed
  3. 1/2 cup plain nonfat yogurt
  4. 3 tablespoons honey
  5. 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  6. 1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric
  7. Salt
  1. Juice the carrots. Transfer the juice to a blender and add all of the remaining ingredients except the salt. Blend until smooth. Season with salt.
Notes One serving 203 cal, 52 gm carb, 3 gm protein, 2 gm fiber, less than 1 gm fat.
