Caffè Romano Martini

  • SERVINGS: Makes 1 drink

On a trip to Helsinki, Philip Duff drank an espresso romano (an espresso served with a piece of lemon zest). When he returned home, he tinkered with ingredients behind the bar and created this drink.

cocktails Glassware Guide

  1. Ice
  2. 1 1/2 ounces vodka
  3. 1/2 ounce coffee liqueur
  4. 2 ounces chilled brewed espresso
  5. 1/2 ounce elderflower syrup
  6. 1/4 ounce Rich Simple Syrup
  7. 3 coffee beans and 1 lemon verbena leaf (optional), smacked, for garnish
  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add all of the remaining ingredients except the garnishes and shake very well. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with the coffee beans and lemon verbena leaf.
