Shaking this cocktail creates a layer of foam on top, like the crema on an espresso. Notte, Italian for "night," refers both to the drink's dark color and to the time you'd drink it.

  2. 1 ounce Calvados
  3. 1 ounce coffee liqueur, preferably Tia Maria
  4. 1/2 ounce room-temperature brewed espresso
  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add all of the ingredients, shake vigorously and strain into a chilled martini glass.
