The Cable Car was created by mixologist Tony Abou-Ganim in 1996 as a signature drink for Harry Denton's Starlight Room, a famous cocktail lounge on the top floor of the Sir Francis Drake Hotel in San Francisco.

Ingredients

  1. 1 lemon wedge
  2. Superfine sugar
  3. Ice
  4. 2 ounces spiced rum
  5. 3/4 ounce orange curaçao
  6. 1 ounce fresh lemon juice
  7. 1 orange twist
  1. Moisten the outer rim of a martini glass with the lemon wedge and coat with sugar. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the rum, curaçao and lemon juice; shake well. Strain into the martini glass; garnish with the twist.
