In this intensified Sidecar, Jonny Raglin replaces the orange curaçao with pear and ginger liqueurs and uses two bonded (aged, 100-proof) spirits: Laird’s apple brandy and Rittenhouse rye whiskey, which Raglin says tastes like “pumpernickel spice.”

  1. Ice
  2. 3/4 ounce bonded rye whiskey, preferably Rittenhouse Rye 100 Proof
  3. 3/4 ounce Laird's bonded apple brandy
  4. 1/2 ounce ginger liqueur
  5. 1/2 ounce pear liqueur
  6. 3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice
  7. Dash of orange bitters
  8. 1 lemon twist, for garnish
  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the remaining ingredients except the garnish and shake well. Strain into a chilled coupe and garnish with the lemon twist.
