Reviews for BLT Fried Egg-and-Cheese Sandwich
Go back to recipeI have made this twice already. So YUMMY! Anything with bacon and fried eggs seem to work! I also add cheese and instead of lettuce, I use spinach. I also add mayo and mustard too. I think you can add what you like and it will just come out super yummy! And of course, its very easy!

When I spotted this little gem, I was surprised to see Thomas Keller's name on it. But like other Keller dishes, this does not disappoint. Very approachable, easy really, both my husband and I enjoyed this tasty treat. I paired it with homemade tomato soup...yum! By the way ~ I always follow a recipe to the letter the FIRST time I prepare it...it does seem odd to me that one would 'rate & review' a recipe if they did not, in fact, prepare the recipe...I'm all about innovation, but how can you know the intent of the original if you don't try it? Anyway, thank you Food & Wine for this lovely little dish...

Try it with pesto instead of mayo, it's so delicious!

Excellent! Perfect supper dish.I made as per the recipe and fiddled with different cheeses and using a poached egg .Prefer it with the poached, but leave everything as is.Addictive!

I am a huge fan of Thomas Keller, but this recipe left me underwhelmed. The first time I made it, I followed the recipe exactly and went 'ok"?!. My favorite BLT is bread-majo-arugula-tomato-bacon-avocado-bread. So the second time around I made my usual but added the cheese and egg; just too much going on. I'll stay with my original version.
A note to Buddagal: what made you feel justified to review this recipe when you did not come close following recipe as written?

Ah, it's the famous BELTCH sandwich from Gladys' in Vancouver circa 1979!

I had to check online if anyone else knew about this deliciousness and it was here!!! I love justification of good taste!!!
