These days Bloody Marys are garnished with anything from olives and pickles to lobster claws and bacon cheeseburgers. Mixologist Craig Schoettler keeps it classic with celery and lemon.

  • 8 ounces chilled tomato juice
  • 1 1/2 ounces vodka
  • 1/4 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, plus more to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Tabasco, plus more to taste
  • Ice
  • Salt
  • Freshly ground pepper
  • 1 celery rib, for garnish
  • 1 lemon wedge, for garnish

How to make this recipe

  1. In a chilled collins glass, combine the tomato juice, vodka, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce and Tabasco. Fill the glass with ice and stir 
well. Season the drink with salt and pepper and garnish with the celery rib and lemon wedge.
