Black Pepper Syrup

  • SERVINGS: Makes about 12 ounces
  • MAKE-AHEAD

Use this syrup to make Bitter Orange & Black Pepper Soda.

  1. 1 tablespoon black peppercorns
  2. 8 ounces water
  3. 1 cup sugar
  1. In a spice grinder, coarsely grind the black peppercorns. In a small saucepan, combine the ground pepper with the water and bring to a boil. Remove from the heat, cover and let stand for 20 minutes. Pour through a fine strainer into a jar. Add the sugar, cover and shake gently until dissolved. Refrigerate for up to 1 month.
