During the cold months—prime season for citrus fruits—mixologist Todd Thrasher sometimes makes this drink using up to five different varieties of oranges.

  1. Ice
  2. 1 ounce orange vodka, preferably Stolichnaya Ohranj
  3. 1/2 ounce Cointreau or other triple sec
  4. 2 ounces blood orange juice
  5. 1 ounce Simple Syrup
  6. Large dash of orange bitters
  7. Large dash of Angostura bitters
  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add all of the remaining ingredients and shake well. Strain the drink into a chilled martini glass.
