Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 cup finely shredded fresh basil
  • One 2-inch piece of cinnamon stick
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

How to make this recipe

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the water and sugar. Add the basil and cinnamon and simmer over low heat until reduced to 1 cup, about 10 minutes. Cool to room temperature, then strain. Stir in the lemon juice.
