Basil and Cinnamon Syrup
- SERVINGS: makes 1 cup

- 1 1/2 cups water
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 cup finely shredded fresh basil
- One 2-inch piece of cinnamon stick
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- In a small saucepan, combine the water and sugar. Add the basil and cinnamon and simmer over low heat until reduced to 1 cup, about 10 minutes. Cool to room temperature, then strain. Stir in the lemon juice.

Serve With
Peaches, nectarines and all kinds of berries.
