White whiskey is having its moment in the US right now. Since the whiskey isn't aged in barrels, distillers are able to release it quickly. Greg Buttera and Stephen Cole mix their Bare Knuckle with High West Silver OMG Pure Rye, made in Park City, Utah.

How to Poach Eggs in a Strainer

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 ounces white whiskey, preferably rye-based
  • 1 ounce Carpano Antica Formula or other sweet vermouth
  • 1/4 ounce Cynar (bitter artichoke aperitif)
  • 1/4 ounce Fernet-Branca (bitter Italian digestif)
  • 2 dashes of Angostura bitters
  • 2 mint sprigs, lightly bruised
  • Ice
  • 1 lemon twist

How to make this recipe

  1. In a mixing glass, combine all of the ingredients except ice and the twist. Fill with ice and stir well, then strain into a chilled coupe. Pinch the twist over the drink and discard.
