Citrus Barbecue Sauce

  • SERVINGS: Makes 3 Cups

  • MAKE-AHEAD
  1. 2 cups ketchup
  2. 1/2 cup brown sugar
  3. 1 teaspoon grated lemon zest
  4. 1 teaspoon grated orange zest
  5. 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  6. 2 tablespoons fresh orange juice
  7. 3 tablespoons molasses
  8. 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  9. 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  10. 2 teaspoons liquid smoke
  11. 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  12. 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  1. Combine the ingredients in a saucepan and whisk to mix. Gradually bring the sauce to a simmer over moderate heat and simmer until thick and flavorful, 8 to 10 minutes. Transfer to a bowl or clean jars and let cool to room temperature. Refrigerate until serving.
